is it true that depending on the message, we may be rejected or accepted? as someone said, people who get “we appreciate your interest” are porbably not accepted?

@APoverload, thats totally not it, i was accepted and I got that message as well

Congratulations and welcome to the Class of 2016 at Northwestern University! On behalf of the Northwestern faculty, students, and alumni, it gives me great pleasure to inform you that you have been admitted to the Judd A. and Marjorie Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences.

The admission committee evaluates tens of thousands of applications each year, and your considerable academic achievements, extracurricular accomplishments, and impressive character stood out as truly exceptional. You will be joining a community that includes engaged faculty, students with diverse talents and backgrounds, and spirited alumni.

Northwestern will immerse you in an environment with limitless possibilities to learn, make a difference, and define your path for future success. We are confident you will make a significant contribution to the life of the University, both in and out of the classroom.

Over the coming weeks, I hope you have the opportunity to visit campus. Our admitted student program, Wildcat Days, will give you the opportunity to meet faculty, advisors, current students, and your future classmates. You will also have the opportunity to attend classes and tour our facilities.

Please note, our offer of admission is contingent upon the successful completion of your senior year and a review of your final transcript. In the next few days via mail, you will receive an official copy of your decision letter and materials which outline the steps you will need to take to enroll in the Class of 2016. If you plan to accept our offer of admission, we need to know by May 1.

It is our good fortune that you chose to apply to Northwestern; I look forward to welcoming you to campus next fall. The time you spend on our campus will be among the most memorable years of your life.

Accepted! On top of the world!!! Ahhhhhhhhhh!!!

good luck to everyone, I got waitlisted its hard to understand seeing as I got an interview for the HPME program. I had to fly all the way to Northwestern from the South, so I definitely demonstrated interest. At the moment its hard to understand why, but I wish the best of luck to the rest of you.

How did you see?

NU Staff, so would it be worth it to stay up all night to wait for the problem to be solved? :)

^ Good question, will it be fixed in the next 5 hours or less…?

NU Staff is fast asleep already :)

We’re hoping it is fixed soon but still don’t have a concrete timeframe - we are hoping for any update from technical staff in the next half hour.

My god, I hope that all the other schools I applied aren’t going to make their decisions this agonizing!

NUStaff, thank you so much for not leaving us in the dark!

Well I’ll be watching TV attempting to pass the time. So if anyone gets a decision while I’m away from my computer and would be able to telepathically tell me that decisions are up, that’d be great.

Thanks in advance,
Just another freaking out NU applicant

Oh my gosh, I just got through. Accepted!

working for anyone else?

Thanks NUStaff for keeping us updated!

5 hours after I got the email… Accepted!

is anyone else getting “service unavailable” now?

@painty

Yes. I am too.
