<p>ALSO, for the railroad question i believe it is Chicago. Remember one of the reasons why (possibily) Douglas pushed the Kansas-Nebraska issue was that he wanted the transcontinental railroad built in the North. He had land in Chicago and wanted the land value to rise. The territory in the north (kansas/nebraska) would have had to been organized.</p>
