Official Sat Ii Ush Post Test Discussion

"In the late 18th century it [Pittsburgh] served as the location for a frontier fort for both the British and the French."

The Pennsylvania Railroad was built in 1851.

Then, "Transportation improvements facilitated the growth, and by 1900 nine railroad lines entered the city."

There were no labor union strikes in the 1840's right?

i'm planning to take the sat ii for ush and i was wondering which prep book i should use..note: i didn't take apush

Do NOT use Barron's...it's friggin' horrible, and it's wayyyyyyyyyyyy harder than the real thing. Princeton Review was pretty much on the money in terms of difficulty.

FreshElephant - yeah, I think I put "national unionization" as one of the answers for an EXCEPT question.

confused_junior, I took the AP USH test but not the class. I used AMSCO AP USH to study for both the AP and the SAT II, I strongly recommend it.

Make AMSCO your bible and you'll be good to go. 700+ is practically guaranteed.

I used SAT II for Dummies...i thought it was great

You guys have the one about Nonfarm and Average incomes wrong. The question asked which one was not proven from the chart and it was that farmers incomes increased or decreased, because there was nothing on the chart about farmers...just nonfarm and average

What did you guys put for the last one (it was a picture and the only question I left blank)? I forgot what the picture was though...

GinPA, I thought the general consensus was that it WAS the farm wages thing? Well, in any case, I agree with your answer.

EDIT: The last one was about the triumph over the Depression. 1931-1940.

Maybe so, i just read the list and it said something else...

Its Chicago...period

i screwed up the blue eagle (last question), dont know what i was thinking...

I liked the cartoon of Wilson sneaking the Treaty of Versailles out...it was on the AP yesterday

I'm taking the USH SAT 2 test in june. should i buy another book specifically dealing with SAT2? I've the REA APUSh book that i used for yesterday's test, is that one fine?

in general, did the MC seem easier, harder, or about the same as the APUS MC, for those of you who took it yesterday?

much much easier

I think REA AP USH is fine, a lot of my friends used it. Did you find it helpful on the AP? If you did, then it's definitely worthwhile for the SAT II too.

MC was easier for me on the SAT II, maybe it was because I was more careful. But I did find that I made a lot less mistakes today than yesterday on the AP.

Wait, are we sure that first question was EUROPEAN colony, and not BRITISH? And are we talking about COLONY, not settlement?

AHA! Shanianwang has it!

It said colony!!!!

Florida is a settlement!

i dont remember that one...but i do know the railroad was Chicago
