I’m going to guess you were around the same time as me and the other people who haven’t switched to “being reviewed” yet (but hopefully will in the near future).

I just received this email from Undergrad Admissions (10:30 pm PST). This was in response to my email to them two days ago asking about my “non-status” : “The file is complete and under review at this time. No further information is needed. The information you are looking at may be from a previous email that was used or a previous application that was started but was not finished.”

I think it just means they have everything they need, and they can’t comment on your application or where it is in the review process any more than that. Sounds like you’re fine.

Thanks Wg. So, don’t interpret the “under review” in the context of what everyone has been posting all day about under review-forward-review etc? LOL

There are two groups, but one only has a few posts. Last year the group for Class of 2013 was huge and hundreds who posted. This year there are not that many in either group.

Gotta move us to the front page. @shicko. I agree with you I dislike the whole status system. I prefer to just have one day when acceptances are posted, like UCLA. This sending acceptances out in waves is torture and increases stress. Just send acceptances out on one day so at least you know if you are a Trojan and then we all wait with respect to SCA.

hah i definitely agree that the waiting can get ridiculously stressful. but i also think that they do it in waves now because they probably used to do it all on one day and that didnt work so well. USC has highly competitive sub schools (e.g. SCA) and part of their admissions ‘mission’ (hah if that makes sense) is to send each application through a nuanced process that looks at every circumstance with respect to their applications and supplemental school requirements.

so if taking longer means that the general admission is workin hand in hand to see what SCA thinks of my portfolio work, then i’m willing to tough it out after people are already hearing about their admissions to main campus. of course, it does happen where USC sends out their acceptance before SCA, but if they arrive at the same time, then it is a possibility that the decisions were coordinated.

personally, i just think their ‘wave’ acceptances is a sign that they really do take the time to evaluate each application individually without admission ‘formula checklists’ like most colleges do. but this is all just opinion.

also, any updates on packages arriving to anyone today?

And with that I’m going to leave the house to see my friend’s new puppies. I’m still sick with the flu but she ditched school because, as other fellow Illinoisians may have noticed, today is a momentous occasion. It is MARCH 17th, and it is 60 DEGREES AND SUNNY outside. IN THE ICY TUNDRA OF CHICAGO.
