Official UC Irvine Fall 2017 Transfer Applicant Thread

Don’t know if they’re doing it by alphabetical order since my major is Art History, my GPA is relatively high, and still nothing. We’ll see!

Or maybe they’re just releasing admission decisions in a random order just to f*** with us even more. Lol. I wouldn’t put it past them.

nothing here either. Business Admin with a secondary major of Social Policy and Public Service…
3.77 gpa

I saw all the new messages on here and my heart rate went up!

UCI transfer rep was at my school Monday, she told me they would be releasing decisions beginning yesterday more than likely. She told me based on my gpa and my C I got in Calc 2, I’d be right at the bottom end of the cutoff. 50/50 toss up based solely on grades, not taking any personal statements or anything like that into account. So I’m remaining hopeful.

I did not TAG. Applied for B.S. and for M.S. in CS since I already have undergrad in a different area. Was accepted to B.S. only. Deadline to respond 06/01/2017.

I got my transfer admission notification March 14th, weird.

@Asurada r u in honors programs?

Looking at last year’s thread, a lot of people seemed to get accepted on the 22nd which was a Friday . Fingers crossed the bulk of decisions come out this Friday

Hey guys! Can anyone chance me?
Finished IGETC SPRING 2017
GPA: 3.69
Tons of volunteer hours
currently taking calc 2
Major: Business Administration
Only applied to UCI, no other school

There should be some sort of pattern. I just cant put my finger on it… Are they processing “non-traditional” students first? TAG, second bachelors…
Has anyone heard anything about cutoff for CS this year?

@Kandy123 well that was a bold move only applying to one UC, hopefully it works out. If you look up a few posts, you’ll see I have a 3.77 Business Admin major, I got a B in Calc 1 and a C in Calc 2, the transfer counselor said I would be hovering right around the bottom of the cutoff…

So a 3.69 I imagine would be in the same boat as me. Not sure how your pre-req gpa is. Her answer was based solely on grades and not taking any other info into account. So take that for what its worth. good luck.

Just heard it from the grapevine that 6500 admits are going out today. Keep an eye on your portals as it usually appears there first before you get the email.

@UCIAnteaters that’s so crazy! Really hope that’s true! Thank you for sharing

@UCIAnteaters do you know if there’s a time admissions are usually released or if it’s random? From what I’ve been seeing, it seems like they release admissions around midnight - 3am

So stressful waiting! I’ve been checking every hour for the past few days.
I also applied to UC San Diego, do they release the decision at the same time for both schools?
I am an out of state transfer with a 3.5 gpa.
I thought that was pretty good until I saw everyone else’s! Lol
Do I still have a shot??

I dropped a class this semester, but sent in a course change request that I dropped it in the fall 2016, when I meant spring 2017 even though it’s not listed in my fall courses back then cause I didn’t take it. And they emailed me that they made the change to my spring courses? Don’t know if that’s a typo or they know what I meant, because kudos to them if they did. Did anyone else drop anything this semester and changed their course schedule successfully?
@madijean355 I’m sure you have a shot, your GPA is good but it also depends on how competitive your major is. I don’t know about the same time but I assume that it’s different for each school. Some may send it out early in the morning and some when the admission offices close. That’s what I had for two of my acceptances.

@Sekime I dropped a class this semester and I informed the counselor via portal and she said that it would not hurt my decision and she updates the changes herself so I think you’re set!

I just got in UUUUURAAA
