^ it’s 669, dear theleakers. U’r safe.
Just an update for you guys it’s 12:36 PM 3/14 and the decision is not out yet. I think I’ll just check back on the 17th, and then on the 19th so i won’t develop a heart/bladder issue after this college frenzy…
oh and why are you guys so certain that they will call to congratulate the admitted after the decision is out? I think they would call before, actually. Then the call will have a thrilling/surprising element that heightens its value. It will make UCSD looks like it cares about every single student it admits, adding some personal feel to the student vs.school connection…while after the decision is published, the call will be extraneous…a decision call > a congratulation call.

just my idea, good luck everyone

Oh and some other comments: Ms.Sun’s page says that the dates are “unverified”=>take it as you want.
I’m so happy that UCSD’s decisions are coming out AT ONCE, not in batches though. It’ll be the most painful 15 days if your friend gets a decision on Mar.15, and your decision won’t come until Mar. 31…

My guess is they would make the calls after to answer questions, otherwise it might be percieved as a prank call.

One other thought, this is finals week. My daughter will be volunteering Thursday nite on the phones only, then a final friday and off to Belize with the C.O.R.E group. The current students could not possibly call all accepted apps. during finals week, nor would they care with spring break coming up.

that’s because alumni take over the phone banks after the current students finish their round.

@ mlw and all other people who think that the decisions will becoming out before the phone calls on Thursday, why do you guys think that? Because I hope you guys are right, I just want to understand how you came to that conclusion. Sorry if this question has already been asked …

Cal Poly SLO uploaded decisions online before they had their own students call us to congratulate us. Mainly because the students wanted to invite us to explore the types of clubs they had. I hope this is the same case with UCSD.

Today I got a call around 3ish and it was from la jolla. They said I got admitted to UC san diego. I wanted to be sure about this call. They said they will post decisions up later. Also, they will be calling for the next few days.

Did you really? Congratulations! Is there any reason why you got called or are they calling everybody who got accepted?

my first instinct would have been to ask for proof – they’d know your PID or some other piece of identifying information. just because it came from an on-campus number (534-XXXX or 822-XXXX) doesn’t mean it came from admissions.

■■■■■…?

I totally forgot to ask for proof, I was caught off guard- I was at the pharmacy when I got the call. The number started with 858-XXX-XXX. They invited me to attend the april 9th Freshmen admit day.

Wow, congrats! I think the 17th through 19th date is Regents only, so I’m not expecting a call then, lol.

They never mentioned anything about regents to me, i think its just a general acceptance call.

Damnit i just missed a call from the same number.

did they call your cell?

thats messed up
calling people, really?

they’re going to personally call 10,000 admittees to tell them the good news? Since they don’t leave messages, then I doubt they could get through the entire list before the May 1 SIR date. Clearly its going to be posted some time soon.
