SaveTheManatees, what's your major? Yeah, I read that few people on this forum got calls. I'm worried, since I didn't...

Don't worry yummy, UCSD can't possibly call every single student they accepted.

Linguistics. Your major is probably more popular meaning there's less of a chance they'd call you.

And exactly what Muserz said.

How popular do you think biological anthropology is...hrm....
Freaking out...how unusual!

Is biological anthropology grouped under the biology major?

I'd assume so, seeing as how it has biological in it. But would specific majors count more than the college/department it's under?

I wouldn't think so, I would be inclined to guess department matters more.

But who knows?

Accepted

if you guys got in by call, do you see anything online yet that indicates youre accepted?

No he told me that they were going to send me an email on Sunday.

How did the conversation go? Did they start out by saying you were accepted or what?

Never heard of a phone call saying you are admitted by a UC. Is there something special like a special program or something?

Ya I thought it was weird that they called me. First they said if he could speak with Eddie and I said this is him. And he congratulated me and he told me all about the upcoming events. Like how they are sending the email on the 15th and on April 4th all the people who are accepted meet in the campus and a bunch of other stuff.

I hope I get in! These phone calls freak me out...although I know logically they can not call every single student who got in.

I was wondering, is it possible to get in without getting an invitation to Scholar's Day or receiving a phone call? I'm a little concerned about this.

Of course. :) The people they called were possibly the top applicants. There is still room for students who are in the mid-range, yet still accepted, nonetheless.

Try to see where you stand in UCSD admissions with this: UCSD Freshman Comprehensive Review Process (Dec 2004)

:)

what about transfer students? when are decisions coming out? why havent I gotten any mail nor e-mail from san diego?

Chesser, sign into your UCSD account and it should be on the first page when you will be notified about admissions. I'm pretty sure its not till a month after freshman start to receive admission decisions so I wouldn't be worried.

Accepted via scholars day invite
