Official Union LIM Acceptance Thread

This is for everyone accepted to the Leadership in Medicine Program with Union College and Albany Medical College. List what other programs/schools you have gotten into and what your decision is going to be. We all have hard decisions ahead of us and it makes it easier when you get together with people in similar situations.

I've gotten into Union LIM, Wash U in St. Louis, GWU, Pitt Honors, Case Western.

Waiting on Ohio State BS/MD, Brown PLME, Penn, Duke.

I’ve gotten into Union LIM, BU SMED, and Siena/AMC
Waiting on Rice/Baylor and Brown PLME
A lot of my decision is based on FinAid as well as school rankings for some reason…but all of these programs are great so I don’t know how I’ll decide…

When did u guys hear about the Union LIM program, because i was placed in the still under consideration list and I haven’t heard anything since Mid-March. Were you accepted during the first notification that they sent out in Mid-March or just recently.

I haven’t gotten into any yet, but i didn’t really expect to.

Well, I’m currently a freshman at NU right now. I also applied to the Union LIM program last year and I also had trouble hearing back from from them. I was denied by the program, so I decided to go to Northwestern instead, even though it does not have a BS/MD program, one of the pivotal aspects I was looking for in colleges. I am just letting you know to not get disappointed if you have not received word back from the university, but a regular 4 year undergraduate program followed by applying to a 4 year medical school is also a suitable alternative. If you have been accepted to NU (congrats if you did!), I would strongly urge you to come here. The only downfall about this university is that they require individuals to maintain their grades all through senior year. Even though the possibility of revoking admission is slim, I would personally urge you to keep your grades up. One of my friends performed negatively due to “senioritis” and it cost him his spot at NU, even though overall his GPA weighted was a 4.3 and his test scores were far above normal. However, he got C’s late in his senior year in both AP Bio and AP Java, and NU rescinded his admission. This is just a word of caution so this unfortunate circumstance does not happen to you, and I strongly urge you to come to NU if you are not accepted at the Union LIM program. So work hard to keep up your grades!! Good luck!
