how hard is the 3.75 gpa at pitt undergrad?

not quite sure but, the program director of Pitt said that she did not see any GA students failing to go to med school bec of this requirement. Does not look like very hard, and definitely doable as per the program director…

if we do decide to apply out, do we get the support we need (advising, teacher recommendations etc?)

also, has anybody gotten their hardcopy letter yet?

I e-mailed them yesterday for hardcopy of acceptance letter. They said they have been mailed just this wednesday, so should be receiving by this weekend or so.

Do we get to graduate in 7 years?

I know that with PLME you must graduate in 8 years. At Pitt you can graduate from the undergrad in three, four, or five years. Dr. Rao said that whatever the student’s choice, she didn’t want the student to get burnt out by taking a lot of credit hours or feeling stressed out. Also, if you have AP credits, Pitt will accept them but I’m not sure if you’d want to in order to maintain the GPA.

how do ap credits work/bear on GPA?

got my hardcopy todayy

hi i have a question on the UPITT GA prog, so basically, you can graduate within like 6-7 yrs? and…what are the admission requiremetns and how many seniors get selected every yr? thanks! =D

It’s an 8 year program. About 15 incoming freshmen are in the program every year.

Requirements to apply: 1450 M+CR SAT or ACT equivalent, and a certain gpa (don’t remember) with rigorous hs couseload
Requirements to stay in program: 3.75 gpa

Schrizto,

Are you in the Pitt GAP program?

If you are, I have a few questions.

How hard is it to keep 3.75 GPA at Pitt? Also, I think that you are required to do volunteering and research. Is it OK to do the research over the summer? I am thinking it may be hard to do research during the school year while trying to get all As.

This seems to be one of the best combined programs, but the GPA requirement scares me.

Are there many who get kicked out of the program?

when will they announce results?

hopefully it is soon!!!

Yeah, I’m really curious how hard it is to keep a 3.75 GPA. I mean, I don’t want to go to a combined degree program, just to stress out incessantly about my grades.
And my only regret with the interview is that we did not get to speak with current students of this program -that would have been super helpful!

I got admitted!

Lol i wish

my god phatty you gave me a heart attack.

I think we hear back tomorrow.

U Pitt is in par with UWSTL as far as high GPA req. Samething true for Univ of Miami too.

lol, but Pitt doesn’t have the 36 MCAT requirement.

I just called guys…they said sometime early next week…

gdi…

Thanks ObeseEthiopian…wow that is a really long wait, nearly a month since the interview!
The date April 15th sticks out in my mind for some reason…

ah, they told us during the interviews that the latest date we’d find out would be April 10, but now they’re extending it to the 15th. Next week, guys!
