Official USPhO 2011

Took the test with the stomach flu. :(

16.75, but feeling nervous about things…

I think i got a 23.75 (unofficial). Some of my friends got in the 20s and some people that I know that are in their first year physics got around 15.

I believe the cutoff will be around 17.

Comparably, this test was more like a mix of AMC 10 and AMC 12 (thus instead of around a 14 question cutoff like on AMC, it will probably be anywhere around 17-20)

does anyone know when we will get our scores back?

you can check online if you took it by webassign; if not, i think you have to wait until they announce all scores or perhaps ask your teacher.

does anyone know when the official cutoff will be released?

Semi-Finalists are out (http://www.aapt.org/physicsteam/2011/upload/2011-Semi-Finalists.pdf</a>). 16.5 made the cut-off.

16.25 also made the cutoff. It was above 15.

15<x<=16.25

How do you know it was above 15? And you know your scores from webassign, right? My teacher did not receive the scores yet.

Woohoo! Got Semi-finalist!

Congratulations to you all! I’m not sure what my son’s score was but he made it, too. He’s a junior and made it last year, too, but we’d heard his score was on the bubble this year so he wasn’t sure. Whew!

Good luck everyone at semi! I think the cutoff was 15.75?

@bestswimmer Considering past cut-offs, that seems reasonable.

Bestswimmer - how did you deduce that cutoff?

My son’s score was only 15, so it seems like that was the cutoff. Whew! He thought he did much better so he’d better figure out how to make fewer mistakes on the semi!

Have any of you taken the semis yet?
