Official visit, early decision, Likely Letter Brown

My daughter is also so happy with Brown and with her team - I am eternally grateful that she landed exactly where she is!

My kid literally didn’t want to come home after the OV! Loved the team, coach, classes, other students met, town of Providence! During this waiting period worries that a promise of LL too good to be true…so much angst! I don’t want to give false hope, just in case. Checked common app today and all recommendations have been submitted so I believe the application is complete. Good thing for lots of homework and training for diversion…

To say that a LL is not rescinded “unless you get arrested” is a completely false statement. While our kid did enter via ED, from personal experience I can tell you Brown admissions pays attention to applicants given LL letters and their high school fall mid-term grades prior to issuing the final admissions letter in December.

… And yes, for our kid who had other Ivy choices, Brown has been described as the greatest place on this Earth.

The LL says that it has the same weight of reliability as an ED letter in December. So it would be revoked for the same reasons - a suspension, grades that are out of range of your previous grades, etc. However, they have already reviewed the application and there is no additional review in between the LL and the ED letter to the materials that they have on hand. Its only new incoming information which would cause a decision to be changed.

The long awaited call came from the coach today! My kid is a Brown Bear and overjoyed. Appreciate all the wise words here.

wanted to PM but cannot since I am new with not enough post.
I was waitlisted last year, I had applied regular decision and as an international I requested almost full ride. (parental expected capacity = 5k) This year I am applying again so I want to apply early because beyond any shadow of doubt, I know Brown is the place for me. However, I am poor and with that full ride need aware thingy. Any tips for me? Will they not consider me because I am applying for the second time? Anybody has experience or knowledge. Please Pm me maybe? Or answer it. Thanks
