Official Wesleyan ED II 2013 Thread

do you think that ed2 will be as competitive as ed1 was thsi year?

So it seems like most colleges release early decisions on the 13th when the deadline is the 15th, but I just realized that February 13th is a Friday...so we could all be getting our admission decisions on Friday the 13th :-/

I'm not usually superstitious...but I hope Wes chooses another day to send out decisions

but... they have to admit someone... why not you, thelooneyeskimo? friday the 13th cant be bad for everyone, eh?

I think it would be rather cool to be admitted to the class of 2013 ON the 13th... Maybe it's a GOOD omen!

I just decided this weekend to apply to Wes ED2, I've also been bouncing around for a while about it but it feels like the right thing to do..... Now I just can't wait until I find out, I have no idea if I can get in..... GOOD LUCK TO ALL YOU GUYS TOO

Oh I'm so excited for all of you! :) Hope you all make it in so we can all go party at WesFest together!!!

Good luck all of you!! So exciting!!
You sound just like me, Coffeeholic -- I went back and forth a painful number of times, and I finally decided like 2 days before the ED I deadline :)

Does anyone know when we find out if we got in or not? I'll be counting down the days......

Hey guys!
I just created this account about a minute ago, and I'm SO happy to see an ED II Wesleyan thread! Yay, other people like me!

Like someone said before I also decided about a week ago to apply ED II to Wes, because I finally got myself together and convinced myself that I really did love Wesleyan (I'm terrible at making binding decisions haha)

ANYWAYS

I'm just a little worried because I completed my Pre-Supp months ago saying that I am applying regular but I selected ED II on the Common App and sent by overnight mail yesterday the PDF file with the ED Statement so I guess I'll try calling the admissions office later.

Good luck to all of you!

they sent me a confirmation e-mail a couple of days after I submitted my app to say that they received it, and gave me my WesID, and if any of your info in the e-mail is wrong then you can e-mail them back and tell them to change it. For me, it said that I was applying Regular even though I had put EDII on allllll of the forms, so I just sent them an e-mail saying I wanted to apply EDII, not Regular, and they took care of it right away and changed the records. Basically what I'm saying is, do not fret.

ok great!
thanks!

also does your WesID only work once they received your app?

I only received an e-mail with my WesID after I had submitted my App, but it might also just be the Pre-App form, I did them both at the same time so I can't tell.

ALSO, for all Wes EDII's.....
Is it just me, or did you kind of wish that Wes had a Why Wes supplement so you could tell them all the things you absolutely love about the school? I keep writing all these other Why X School for other schools that I'm applying to but every time I think "Well I really like this about the school but they have that at Wes too" or "They don't have this, but Wes does!"
Am I alone in this?

Coffeeholic:
I specified ED II on my pre app but the common app wouldn't let me choose ED II so I had to put RD. I received an email from wes detailing my info and asking if any changes should be made and I emailed them back saying I was applying ED II but its the holidays so I'm worried that they won't reply. :( I sent the ED II agreement by mail tho.
Anyone had an interview here?

It's weird that the Common App wouldn't let you put EDII..... still I think as long as you e-mailed them it'll be okay, I e-mailed them over the break as well but someone from admissions still e-mailed me saying that they would change it in the system, and when I checked WesCheck it had changed to EDII
They understand all the stupid technical difficulties, so I wouldn't worry about it so much as long as you sent in the ED agreement already which you did.

I'm applying to Wes EDII!!!!!!
Oh, and in light of the absence of the Why Wes essay, I just worked it into my application.
I'm so excited.
I have a question though...everything else is in, but I tried to overnight my art supplement on the 31st, but they aren't delivering mail on the first they said it would arrive there at 12:00pm today. It is postmarked for the 31st. Is this okay?
Do you think they would disregard it?

they'll probably accept it if it's postmarked the 31
they don't have to receive things by the 1st, it has to be postmarked by the 1st

I had an interview, it went well i hope haha!

at the end my interviewer said i'd do really well at Wesleyan so i guess that's a good thing!
But i already knew that I could do well at Wesleyan..hence applying early so we'll see

i really hate waiting grrr

"Does anyone know when we find out if we got in or not? I'll be counting down the days......"

They said it should arrive by Feb. 15th, but since that's a Sunday it'll probably arrive on the 13th or 14th for most people. I know my ED I letter came 2 days early (I live in NYC). Of course that was a deferral... thick envelopes may take longer haha

And YES I wish there was a Why Wes section too! It's tough to write about all these other schools with the Wesleyan standard already set in my head.

I'm international, does it take really long for an international letter to reach? Because I know carleton sends their intl decisions by priority so that we can get our decisions at the same time as everyone else.

Hey! I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who decided last minute to do ED2.
I just have one question.. when applying ED2 can you be wait-listed or just accepted/rejected?
