<p>Hope everyone's SCEA app submission went just fine. Now that we have to wait 43 days until December 14th, we may as well continue a tradition from the last few years on the forum-- the pledge thread.</p>
<p>Essentially, by appending your name to this list you are promising to post your admissions result on here once you find out in December. By generating a sample pool now, before decisions are out, we can hopefully eliminate some of the statistical nonresponse bias incurred when people who don't hear good news choose not to post decisions in December. </p>
<p>You don't have to promise to post stats, though if you want to that's welcome. But by appending your name to the list, you are saying that you applied SCEA to Yale and will definitely post your result in December. </p>
<p>Descartesz has kindly agreed to do the statistical analysis later on. All you have to do is copy and paste the list and append your name. Here's hoping we hear some good news in December!</p>
<p>As you will see I have kept track of success/failure rates, including deferred-RD rates in April, the past four years and will do so this year if enough of you will cooperate on this year’s thread.</p>
<p>To make it a little more interesting, I challenge 2017 pledgers to break the class of 2015’s total of 139 pledgers (you have to add your name to the list by 5 PM ET, Dec. 14, of course) and the class of 2013’s 87.5% compliance rate (112 out 128 pledgers eventually met their pledge).</p>
