Ogilvy and Mather

"[Shelly Lazarus] helped launch Praxis, Smith’s successful internship program that guarantees every student access to funding for at least one summer internship. Like other Smith alumnae, Shelly eagerly stepped forward to sign on to Praxis by guaranteeing two internships a year at Ogilvy & Mather “for as long as I am in charge -- and that’s going to be a long time!”"

Does anyone know anything about/anyone who has done this internship at Ogilvy?

Does anyone know anything about/anyone who has done this internship at Ogilvy?]]

NOW what are you up to? Aren't you headed to DC in few days to baby-sit a certain someone?

What about contacting Mrs. Lazarus personally through her Smith alumnae email account? Check with Smith first, but you wouldn’t be the first Smithie to not waste their time with the little people and go straight to the top :)

My wife very graciously gave her personal email and ph# to a Holy Cross student interested in the med field. It's done.

RLT I am a pre-med student with the high hopes of attending Havard/ Yale/ Northwestern for med school (unless I change my mind about the med school part...but I digress)...question is does you wife take part in Praxis? Is she a doctor and if so, what kind? It would be really cool if I do the whole shadowing a doctor for a while. I was gonna do it this summer but I got a great research position at Northwestern and couldn't turn it down...i digress again...anyway, as I said, it would be great if I could do that esp. with her...I read a lot of your posts and it seems like it would be beneficial...

It would be really cool if I do the whole shadowing a doctor for a while]]]

You can do that in Northampton. Simply contact a doc in the field you're interested and in many instances arrangements can be made. Part of the issue with shadowing, depending on what specialty, is patient confidentiality.

You made the correct choice by doing research at Northwestern. Shadowing a doc isn’t part of the Praxis program, nor would you want to do it for more than a few days. Believe it or not, it can get boring if you’re shadowing a pediatrician et al. How many kids with diaper rash can you see in a day until enough is enough?

Have you talked to Margaret Anderson yet?

Ot- Aren’t you the young woman who I spoke with about reapplying (or deferring your matriculation) as a transfer because you couldn’t make it work the first time around due to a research project or something?

yeah. i didn't recognize your name here. I spoke to you on princeton review :). Thanks btw. I love this site. I would never have come across it if you hadn't recommended it. I am glad I stayed cos' if I hadn't I wouldn't have known about this thing at Northwestern. I will be working at their Nanotech Institute so I am really excited.
Who is Margaret Anderson?
I have completely made my mind up about going to smith and I am really excited. There's so much I am looking forward to doing...:P I was kinda wishing I had applied there after high school but I still think there are many great opportunities I would have missed...

If interested in bio or neuroscience, she's your woman!

Who is Margaret Anderson?]]

She's Chair of the Board of Pre-Health Advisers.

http://www.science.smith.edu/departments/Biology/prehealth.html

BJM8 gave you the rest.

{{NOW what are you up to? Aren't you headed to DC in few days to baby-sit a certain someone?}}

I'm up to thinking about my future thanks...it might end up being in advertising....or politics. Politics may be more fitting though, or at least my dad thinks so since apparently I can "talk my way out of anything." as well as lie, cheat, steal...and once I get my drivers license (which is a subject we won't bring up) I'll probably rack up some DUI's and such...ya know the usual. (read: kidding)

But I may just e-mail her who knows what may come back.

But babysitting will commence Sunday...right now shes running wild, who knows what trouble shes up to?

Just make sure the two of you have fun...but not too much, and be careful. I know someone who is looking forward to spending time with the two of you. ;)

And if you get to be Pres, you can hire Harvard and Amherst boys as interns to play with :)

Small problem, in politics you talk yourself in to office not out of :)
