Oh, BassDad...

Knowing your penchant for music and baseball...

Now for Something Completely Different: The Electric Louisville Slugger Anthem -- MLB FanHouse

I may go hunt for my oversized softball bat. Probably would make a decent viola.

Hmmm, I wasn’t going to respond since I’m not bassdad, but since he seems to be ignoring you, I thought I’d mention that I have forwarded that link to a bunch of people. thanks!

And I suppose it could only improve the viola…? ;)

Great link (although I’m not BassDad either). I wonder if my kid could make a horn out of a metal bat:)

Sorry, I am not ignoring you. I am involved in a couple of summer productions at local community theaters and have been spending a lot more time in rehearsals than on CC.

Fascinating video. I have seen instruments made to resemble non-musical objects before, most frequently violins and flutes that double as canes, but never a violin made from a stock baseball bat. I once had a literal-minded friend who converted a small wooden doghouse into a playable (if not very refined sounding) string bass so as to make the obvious visual pun onstage. Unfortunately, that was long before YouTube, so I have no videos.
