NAlantaStudio - So glad you posted this. I was the poster concerned about the term “mover” - so glad to hear that isn’t the case with all the students! We’re going to visit probably next week. Your account makes us more excited!

@NAlantaStudio. Thanks for the update. Did you ask in advance to sit in on classes or did they set that up for y’all? I am looking forward to seeing the production of Footloose.

Make sure that you tell admissions that you NEED to see the classes. Jeremy and Kirsten really love the kids seeing the classes but Admissions (like most of the rest of the “normal” people) don’t really understand this process and will set you up on a “regular” tour which is not really what we need. I would also email Marsha McMunn and/or Jeremy and let them know you are coming and that you want to make sure to see classes. That way they can help you a bit. We did not have any expectations when we came but we are leaving with it at the top of our list. I can tell from some of the other kids that have been accepted this year that they have some dancers coming in. We met another girl from Indiana that was also a heavy dancer so that is good news for all our dancing kids. I really like where Kirsten and Jeremy are headed with the program. We also met Brenda who is the head of the dance department and really liked her. There is also a Dance Minor there that a good number of the MT kids seems to be in. Many of them are double minors with Arts Administration. The students that we talked with stated that it was not a stretch to get the double majors even. This really bothered me when I heard you could double major as most programs just don’t let you do that, but the students stated that the other professors really make it doable for them and understand that MT is a hard/stressful major and help the students through the process.

This was another good bonus we weren’t looking for. My D is still at the Footloose rehearsal and has just texted several times letting me know how good it was. I wish we were going to see it!!!

Due to a change in travel plans our D was able to make a few more classes today. She is sitting in on Ballet II, a stage Make-up class and a Modern III class. Will update on those later today! This evening we head to Wright State and then on to Coastal Carolina.

@NAtlantaStudio How did you daughter enjoy her visit at ONU? Did she enjoy the rehearsal of Footloose? How about the classes? We will go to the show next Saturday night. They invited her to go backstage after the show. I’m sure she will enjoy it.
My D just had her last audition at Sam Houston State University and she met a girl there that also got accepted to ONU. They exchanged phone numbers and my D will give her a full report Talk about a small world

Good luck with your decision and have a nice weekend

My daughter thoroughly enjoyed her time at ONU. Yes she saw the rehearsal and thought they did a really good job. She said they were focused on what they were doing and were “all business” which she loved. They are hoping for a class of 10-12. It is my D’s top 2. Let me know how the show goes!

If you do a search of Freed Performing Arts Center on Facebook, they have posted a really cute promo of Footloose! I will try to link here, but it seems like one time I tried to post a video link and it wouldn’t let me on CC. So if it doesn’t work, search it - it’s so cute!

I watched it . Thanks.
Let’s see if this link works
I am looking forward to seeing the show and the campus.

@NAtlantaStudio I know you posted this message a long time ago, but your comment about onu wanting 10-12 students caught my eye. Isn’t their freshman class much bigger than 12 students??? They told me they were hoping for a freshman class of 17-20 for this coming school year, and that it would be the same size for 2017-2018 incoming class. I’m wondering if they were able to handle the increased size of their class last year from the year before…
