Ohio State Deferral

I got deferred from Ohio State, this is the letter I am tenatively sending them. comments?

To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing to you in response to my deferral from the Fall 2011 class of undergraduates at The Ohio State University. Although I understand my application will be reevaluated, I would like to express the gratitude I have for the consideration of my application and my continuing fondness for this university.
I would like to inform you of a few recent achievements that I feel would be influential in your final review of my application. After the submission of my application, I received knowledge I was an Honor Roll student for the first quarter, raising my GPA, and a Scholar Athlete for my school swim team. In addition to these academic honors, I have continued my involvement as Vice President of my school’s first year of school Spirit Committee which I created with the help of a group of my classmates and my English teacher. My classmates and I have worked diligently to raise school involvement and awareness by organizing a Lip Dub video, speaking at assemblies on our group’s behalf, and participating in charity work, for example, creating a Christmas basket for a needy family in our community. Finally, I have become involved with the school musical for the first time, with a position in the pit band as a percussionist, and I look forward to performing in my schools production of The Wizard of Oz in March.
I genuinely appreciate the time you have put into considering my application and I hope that the information I have provided you will strengthen my application. In the meantime, I will continue to work hard for the last semester of senior year and I am looking forward to hearing a final decision later in the year. Thank you again for your time and understanding.
