My son is applying to Ohio State to the school of music. Other than the application, does he need to do anything else now? There does not seem to be any special application form or instructions on what to do next. Does he just apply and wait for the school to come back.

Also how competitive is the school of music for a guitar player?

Thanks for any advice

Just for the heck of it I went and looked at the OSU website. Other than that, I have no personal knowledge of the procedures.

Have you read all the instructions on this page: [Undergraduate Admissions Procedures and Financial Aid Information | School of Music](http://music.osu.edu/undergraduate-admissions)

From that page:

Academic admission to the University is separate from the School of Music application and audition process.

Students planning to pursue any music degree program must complete the following:

A review of the Audition Requirements Booklet for repertoire suggestions and requirements.
An Audition Application. The School of Music application deadline is January 20, 2013.
An audition (date to be selected on the Audition Application).
The Theory Placement Exam (TPE) to be taken on the day of the audition.

Scholarship Deadlines

University Scholarships: you must submit application by December 1, 2012.
School of Music Scholarships: you must audition on or before February 11, 2013.

^^^ Thanks, I tired looking at the site and did not find it this morning. This answers the question. Thank you again

Glad I could help! Good luck.
