Advice needed…sophomore son and friend accepted as transfers for fall 2020…they would like to room together…how can they arrange that or does OSU make that difficult?..thanks in advance
There is a housing exemption for sophomores this year due to the pandemic. I’m not sure if you don’t already have a housing contract if you will be able to get on campus housing so late. Usually choosing your room mate isn’t difficult, but everything is different this year due to the pandemic.
“As a transfer student, will there be housing options for me?
Information will be shared transfer students soon. We are waiting for guidance relative to housing capacity from the CDC, Ohio Department of Health and the university committee reviewing safe physical distancing practices due to COVID-19.”
Thanks Buckeye!
Until recently, most students at OSU moved off campus after their freshmen year. There are numerous neighborhoods adjacent to campus with student-grade housing. Before OSU required sophomores to live on campus, competition for off campus housing was fierce. Now, I don’t really know. There may be many students looking to sublet their place (international students?). I do know that those neighborhoods are completely filled with students…so it still will feel very much like a college environment even if he is off campus.
