Hi everyone,

At the moment, I'm a community college student seeking to transfer for a career in Sports Management/Marketing. I hold zero interest toward sports/player agent, athletic director. I'm interested in sports marketing, event management, the broad business management within sports, ticket sales - topics which entail these. I'm also a big Hockey/Baseball fan, and not big on Basketball/Football. I'm looking at a handful of schools: Northwestern, Vanderbilt, Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Bowling Green, Oregon, Georgia, Baylor, Rice, Connecticut. I would prefer to stay in Mid-America and not too far east or west (Oregon, I'm looking at you).

Ohio leads as the most realistic and preferential so far. I have a lot of questions/concerns about the program.

1.) Does Ohio's program efficiently cover as an "umbrella" for all sorts of sports management careers, or does the program favor paving career paths for Athletic Directors, agents, etc.? From what I can garner, most of Ohio's elite grads out of this program are Athletic Directors. Have several students attended Ohio for the purpose of Marketing/Bus Management, and come out successful? Would I be smart to still go to Ohio for non-AD/Agents spectrum of Sports Management?

2.) I also see many of Ohio's alums landing jobs with the NBA. I'm a hockey/baseball guy, so I'm a bit worried here. Anyone know if Ohio has connections in the hockey or baseball industries?

Also, any additional information offered, even if unrelated to the above, is helpful. I could use any fountain of information at this point.

Lastly, Ohio isn't too expensive... right?

Thanks!
