Not much on the table here, except my credits and performance in the Community College, I have 2 semesters under the table, and to be honest they're just going to really satisfy the prereqs and i'll definatetly be starting as a freshman.

I've decided to try to get into OU, I have another semester to bring my GPA up even more. I can't take SATs or even the ACTs.

I figure OU will be a slight reach, or even a high match. I believe I may be placed on a wait list, which is why I'm hoping to apply within the next few weeks.

thoughts? what do you feel? reach? match?

Generally, most "great" colleges (like OU--I presume you are talking about Oklahoma University--although it could mean Oregon or Ohio) will want you to go to CC two years before transferring (or at least one and a half before applying), especially given your 1.8 GPA in high school. At this point, they don't require you to take the SAT or ACT tests, but will just rely on your community college record.

If you apply before this time, they usually ask you to take the SAT or ACT, and to tell them all about your high school results--which, obviously, would work against you.

My suggestion is to take one more semester of college, then apply to start at OU next fall. (and finish up your entire 2nd year at the CC--which is cheaper anyway).

That's the plan right now, to take the spring at the CC then go to OU (Oklahoma) in the fall, one reason being I'm lacking an admissive math prereq (back when I was in H.S. you only had to take 2 years of math, not the 3-4 I assume most do today)

So I'll be taking that plus whatever other classes I can get in to help.

would it be a reach though, with a bad GPA and no SAT/ACT? I'm fairly sure there's no way for me to take the SAT (I'm 27)

You can take the SAT if you're 80--age makes no difference.

But my point is that if you wait--you don't need to take the test and you'll be admitted easily (if you have the two years--most schools don't require the SAT and won't look at the high school results). Your 3.8 GPA in college will get you in all by itself.
