Okay, so I'm just kinda out there.

What do colleges like Berkeley and UCLA look for in transfer students? Do they look at your high school transcript at all? I'm sorry for being so ignorant, but I've been trying to research on this myself and just wanted to hear what some real people had to say about it.

I'll post my high school grades, but they're probably not needed at this point since I'm attending a junior college.

College

COMPASS Results (when you go to the college, it's a test made by the makers of the ACT and it's an assessment exam for how prepared you are to determine course placement)

Scores were (out of 100):

Reading: 99
English: 100
Pre-Algebra: 82
Algebra (Algebra I and II): 95
College Algebra: 78
Trig: 34

FYI: The test stopped if you got five or more wrong in a row or something like that. If you passed a certain mark, you got to proceed to the next section. It only went up to Trig and if you got to 47 on Trig, you'd be placed into Calculus.

I was placed into Trigonometry. I took the following courses this semester because they were all I could get into at my college:

MATH 115 - Statistics - A
MATH 135 - Trigonometry - A
MATH 140 - Pre-Calculus - B

And I CLEP'd Calculus and got full points.
MATH 150 - Calculus - A

I'm starting Calc II next semester, but I've considered doing credit by examination at my college to skip that course as well. I wonder what they'd think of my high school grades in it...

Anyway, some questions...these guys place a high emphasis on math skills, no? I should have an Associates in math by the end of my sophomore year in college. Will that look good?

ok, first thing- berkeley and UCLA will not look at your high school transcripts if you plan to transfer from a junior college.

Also, none of those test things (like act, sat, etc.) count either, except for the ap tests.

you don’t need to get an associates degree. I know i won’t because i have to take 2 or 3 extra classes to do that (health and cultural something or other). All you need to do is the IGETC program, as well as all the lower division requirements that you can in your major.

Also, about the math skills. It really depends. If you are a history major, it probably wouldn’t matter much how well you did at math as long as you fulfilled that requirement for the IGETC. If you are an engineering major, then of course there is a “high emphasis on math skills.” (there are some majors however for which the IGETC is not recommended, check with a counselor)
