Okay so its 5p.m pacific, 8P.M Eastern....

i would wait two more hours until 7 pm pst.

if it’s not in your inboxes by then … wait until next week.

mine came at 6:23 PM PST

I have a feeling it’s going to be April 1 now.

(crumples on the floor into a miniscule sad heap, even smaller than before)

gregh313: So you can’t tell whether you’re accepted or rejected by looking at the time?

^ To be even more generous, they didn’t even necessarily commit to April 1. They said “we expect…”

Technically, they can do whatever the hell they want. They just have to give kids time enough to decide between now and May 1 ;)

I received my deferral before gregh’s acceptance, so I would say the time doesn’t have anything to do with it.

Maybe they couldn’t finish reading all 30,000 apps yet.

This calls for the rejection by stacks method. It’s more efficient.

nope, i’m not sure who started the idea that they sent out acceptances first, but it’s not true.

i think you guys should go watch last night’s episode of the office and 30 rock AND DON’T REFRESH YOUR INBOX during that time … and see if anything came by the time youre done.

I hope you’re referring to the programming style of stacks, because that would be good for me since I was one of the last to submit :P

Rather watch a basketball game to pass the time, myself.

^ haha, funny thing is, no one would be the wiser. A 6-7% admissions rate for a pool of 30,000 extremely well-qualified applicants is incredibly unpredictable. If you really did just dump all the names in a hat and pick 2,000 of them, there may be a few obvious outliers, but the core of the class would be just as strong!

No email. 10char

@gregh, that’s exactly what I did to make it til now, lol.

stanford sholud become a franchise so we could all go…

arent i brilliant!?

now would be the perfect time to play the OMG I GOT AN EMAIL!!! ACCEPTED OMG!!! prank

haha, then maybe watch the latest episode of lost?

and if you DON’T watch lost (which is so so sad) then you can start at season 1. that should eat up all the time until they come out, even if it’s april 1.

Hookem, best of luck to you too! Maybe we’ll meet at Stanford someday. :]

Yeah, at 6-7%, you’d actually stand a better chance of getting in if they just threw all of the applications on a standard staircase and picked all of the ones that landed on the 7th step for acceptance.

Hence, the staircase plateau.

yeah that would be really sad…i love lost

Hahaha! I just recently did this… starting I dunno when, but I’m all caught up now and watching the lastest episode RIGHT NOW. Yay. :]

LOL

For some reason all I saw was the OMG I GOT AN EMAIL!!! part.
I almost had a heart attack.

All ready watched Lost.

I think I’m just going to take a shower, I’m all sweaty from baseball anyways. I’ll see you guys in ~20 minutes, good luck!
