old books for ap

would old AP prep books be sufficient for any 2015 ap tesT?

Which test(s) do you plan on taking?

bio, calc, physics, english

I can tell you that for AP Bio, try to get one of the newer prep books (after 2012) as they changed the test format in 2012. Multiple choice and free response questions now include application-based questions, rather than knowledge regurgitation as it previously was. I personally am using Barron’s and CliffNotes (both newest editions) to study for AP Bio.

Also, for English (I’m assuming AP English Lang?), use prep books that have an edition after 2007, since that was the year the synthesis essay was integrated into the exam. I’m using CliffNotes and Kaplan (also both new) to study.

I can’t tell you about Calc or Physics since I’m not taking those classes yet, sorry.

FutureDoctor is correct.

Biology: Aim for books that are titled 2012, 2013, 2014.
Calc: Go for any year. They haven’t changed this exam in a while. I don’t think they have at all.
Physics: Depends on the physics. Physics C hasn’t been changed for a while, but since they changed physics B to Physics 1 and 2, get those.
English: Which one are you talking about? Eng Lang or Lit? Both haven’t been changed in a while.

Note: Aim for books that are closest to 2015. I’m taking that you’re on a budget and don’t want to spend $30 for each book, so, purchase them online. If you have to spend an extra 30 cents for a 2007 over a 2006, get the 2007 (for calc).

Personal message me if you need tips on picking the right books to study, brand etc. I’ve taken Calc, Bio, and Lang so far.
