College Preparatory Curriculum

Admission of entering freshmen is based on the completion of the College Preparatory Curriculum (CPC) specified below with either a specific minimum grade-point average (GPA) or both a specific GPA and minimum standard test score. Students must submit a high school transcript reflecting satisfactory completion of the following high school course requirements. (Provisional admission may be granted after six semesters of high school provided the transcript indicates that courses to complete the CPC are underway; final admission will require a complete transcript.) An equivalent College Preparatory Curriculum from another state may be considered when evaluating non-resident student applications.

BEGINNING IN THE SUMMER OF 2012, UPDATED STANDARDS WILL APPLY FOR FRESHMAN ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR UNIVERSITY SYSTEM INSTITUTIONS. The updated standards will be applicable to students graduating from high school and entering a public institution of higher learning beginning in the summer of 2012. An equivalent College Preparatory Curriculum from another state may be considered when evaluating non-resident student applications. Institutions will develop equivalent standards for out-of-state applicants, earlier high school graduates and other applicants not covered by this policy.

The big question is “how are you doing in community college”? Are you a Mississippi resident?

I am doing pretty well in community college. I should have no problem getting at least a 3.0. And no I’m am not a Mississippi resident, is it more difficult for out of state students ?

thanks again !

Are you planning on transfering before you earn your community college degree? If so, give the admissions department a call. They are very nice and eager to help answer any questions you might have. I’m not trying to pass the buck…just trying to make sure you receive accurate information.
