Which school is better for a business program? Carnegie Mellon's Tepper or Wustl's Olin?
Considering Wustl is ranked 11 on usnews, which would you choose if accepted to both?

Tepper is better than Olin but overall WashU is better than CMU.

tepper. who cares if washU is better overall?

um, b/c some kids maybe might want to go to a better overall school? if they somehow end up hating business you can still transfer to another school within the university and still receive an excellent education.

WashU is ranked higher than CMU but I don't think that means it's a better school. WashU has higher selectivity and endowment which I think helps its usnews ranking.

But Tepper is #6 for undergrad business, Olin #11; also WashU has overall peer assessment of 4.1 vs 4.3 for CMU so I don't see how you can say WashU is a better school.

Each has its strengths, can't go wrong with either.

i am going to wustl olin, but in reality i would prefer tepper a lot more than olin...but stern over tepper.... c'mon... these business schools are not in the same level!!!!

are you implying tepper> stern?

no, but the opposite~~ stern>>tepper>olin

k just making sure. where are you going to go to college?

olin ed2................

Is it tougher to get into Olin thean other WUSTL schools?

well, here is a quote from Associate Dean Gary Hochberg:

2,600 applicants for only 135 spaces (for c/o 2009)

in the article: http://www.olin.wustl.edu/discovery/feature.cfm?sid=440&pg=7

so with an approx 33% yield acceptance is about 405 out of 2600, so about 16% acceptance, compared to the entire school of about 20% acceptance, so i would say it is marginally harder, unless the yield is lower for the biz school (i doubt it though) and then it would be in line with the total school avg.

What would you speculate the ED acceptance rate to be at Olin?

Can't say for sure. In general, Wash U likes their ED students because they would rather have a wash u fan than an ivy reject. I would say 30-40 percent is filled ED.
