Oh My God Oh My God Someone Please Tell Me What To Do! Help Me! I Found A Typo In My Common App Essay And I Have Already Sent It!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111 :-(

i did the same thing last year. as a matter of fact, i think i had about 3 typos in my essay. you should just forget them. harvard realizes that we are human and that we make mistakes. besides, if your application is strong enough and if your essay is really good (which i'm sure it is), then the typos are ignorable. so, don't fret.

did you get accepted?? PLEASE TELL ME YOU DID.. I WANT TO CRY RIGHT NOW>>> IVE NEVER FELT SO STUPID... this was way too important a piece to make a typo in!

yeah, i got accepted. i'm a freshman at harvard right now.

okay were your typos mistakes in abbreviations.. please i mean because it really depends how bad they were
i am seriously freaking out.. theyre going to think im careless

i did the same thing this year.
i got accepted. :).

i made one spelling mistake, i forgot the "t" in "at" so i put "a" instead. i had a comma in the wrong place, and i had a spot that needed a comma. so really, this is nothing to freak out about.

how bad was it??? im so scared

The faces swam before me in the as I stood on the front steps of the Sudanese Embassy in Washington, DC.

it was supposed to be:

The faces swam before me as I stood on the front steps of the Sudanese Embassy in Washington, DC.

omggggg

uh, i didn't even notice it the first time i read it. i actually had to consciously look for the typo. the human mind skips over typos automatically because we don't really read everything. knowing the first and last letter of words, means that most people don't even read the letters in between (it's a proven study). also, our brains know the english language well enough that we reconcile mistakes and most often don't even notice them, unless they are glaring, which yours was not.

so, don't sweat it.

OMG, I just read that with no problem....hahahahaha :)

bump...........

haha when i read the typo, i glanced over it and thought it said "in the ass"

but i wouldn't worry about it. it might even be a good thing. another something to set you apart! Good luck!

haha it does say in the ass! hahahahaha its not that bad though, really.

PEOPLE.. this wasnt me mispelling things.. it was a matter of me having two extra words in there that dont have anything to do with anything!

It's a normal mistake. You first formulated the sentence in one way, then deleted to do it in a more attractive fashion; but you left two words of the original there. You don't have shouldn't worry about that one; thoughtful people tend to be absent minded.

I made several typos/grammatical mistakes and was accepted. They were pretty minor, but I'd call your mistake pretty minor also.

do you guys think i should send all the colleges a letter of apology and attatch an edited essay (by mail)??????????????
