Hello,

So long story short, I took some bad advice from a family member and omitted a previous college (due to poor grades) on my current community college application and fafsa. I did not receive any type of financial aid from the college I omitted.

It's been nearly 2 yeas since I first lied about this and I've been losing sleep over it since then. I would like to amend my fafsa and school application, but I'm afraid I could end up expelled, or worse, in jail (it says maximum of 20 year punishment for lying on the fafsa).

Is it possible to fix this without getting in any legal trouble?

I feel like the biggest idiot in the world for lying over something so trivial and I just want to set things right.

Thanks for any advice you might have
