Oh gosh, this thread, lol.

I'm not sure if the UC Extension courses were taken at a school that participates in the National Clearinghouse program...

If the school does participate, if you look at this PDF, http://www.studentclearinghouse.org/dvev/pdfs/DVcc_guide.pdf, it says you can verify attendance/pull a report by name and date of birth.

Check to see if the school you took those extension courses at is listed in the program...

Yes, this thread... haha.
Thanks Tanya for replying!! I was losing hope.

OK, so I took the Extension courses at UCLA. They have "XL" in the title, which means they were taken at night. I had no idea they would be counted against me. I took them a long time ago for enrichment purposes. My counselor even told me they should not count against me.

I read on the UC websites that UC Extension courses do not transfer in GPA, etc. And then yesterday I stumbled upon UCSD's website, and it stated that UC Extension courses numbered 1-199 (does that include XL?) are also considered transferable. I'm just so confused and so hurt that my grade trend did not help UCLA's decision in my favor. And so hurt that my terrible choices in the past had to come back to haunt me right now. I don't even know if these courses were the reason for the rejection. The person I talked to could not give me that information.

I know I know, I should call UCLA. I was in class during hours today so I wasn't able to. I will tomorrow.

PM me if you need additional help, this whole scenario seems very complicated, lol.

Did you receive an admissions notification (acceptance/rejection) from UCSD yet?

If you didn't mention these courses on the UCLA application, I'd put together an appeal letter, provide detailed information regarding these courses, as well as try to write a mini-essay why UCLA is the place for you, and throw in any additional recommendation letters and updates to your resume that you can... It most likely won't work, and you aren't guaranteed that this is the reason why they rejected you, but hey, there's hope... :)

Good luck and have a nice weekend... :)

Thanks Tanya, you are so supportive and helpful! It's so great to have people like you on these forums.

I'll PM you right now.

I see that this thread has been resurrected several times...so I'm going to do it again!

I'm in sort of the same boat as the person who began the thread, and I really don't want to omit any information from my application, but I do have a question covering some of the points that have been discussed here.

The institution I previously attended (the one at which I had a less than stellar record) is NOT listed on the clearinghouse's database.

I have never filed a financial aid form of any kind.

If this is the case, how could the institutions I'm applying to find out about my attendance at this previous school?
