On-Campus Housing vs CO-OPS

Hi! I'm a spring transfer admit and I am trying to figure out which housing option would be best for me. Since the fall semester has already started for the majority of you, I was wondering if you can tell me about your housing situation right now. If you live on-campus or in the coops, tell me how you like it. Are the dorms a better place to start off for someone like me who is moving away from home for the first time and transferring from community college? Are the coops just as good as the dorms, if not better?

At this point, I am a little worried I won't be able to related to the people in the coops because most of them have lived there for some time but on the other hand I wouldn't mind making friends with people who have seniority. On-campus housing might hold more transfer students like me, so I'm leaning toward living in the dorms right now.

The rates for the coops are unbeatable and the communities there sound enticing, but will I be able to fit in? I'm a pretty out-going person but I am still a little concerned.

In any event, I'm apply to both the dorms and the co-ops. I just want some incite on your living situations. I would appreciate it greatly! Thanks

Visit the coops before you decide. Words can’t describe what coops are like.
