On-campus work or off-campus work?

What are some pluses and minuses?

I looked at the site of employment at my future college. Off-campus work pays more, but it's off-campus. On-campus pays like $6-8 per hour but I see two big pluses: 1) On-campus, which means it'll be close to me, 2) More likely I'll be working for office or for teacher/department at college, so I might get pretty good letters of recommendations or just make some connections. What do you think? I'd like to hear an opinion of those who are/were in colleges. Thank you

One of the upsides about doing work study on campus, they are much more amenable if you have to make a change in your schedule if you ave exams or papers due. You also have a little more flexiblity in scheduling your work hours because you actually are on campus and don't have to take travel time or traffic into consideration
