1:16 ACT 33, SAT1512/2243 Great SAT IIs; mediocre essay, IB, good EC not great; deferred ED, 3.93 Un GPA - don’t expect to be accepted. hope this doesn’t throw everyone’s thinking about 1:16…

Or would they?

Perhaps there is some sort or relevance to the time stamp, and Duke Admissions loves watching us fret.

psoleil, 1512 SAT? Really? Are you just ■■■■■■■■ right now?

Why are people still posting on this thread?

Or Duke may not be aware of the timestamp. Even if they are aware, the decisions are released through a third-party system, app.applyyourself.com(?), and therefore Duke doesn’t have direct control over the system. They would have to contact the tech guys as the third-party in order to make changes to the code. Moreover, they may be aware of it but think that not that many people know about it or would question it.

Again, this is all speculation.

The class of 2010/2014 is the most inquisitive class ever!

And lol @ guy with 1512/2243 sat.

Just to add another variable to all this rampant speculation, my friend got “status: not submitted”. In other words, he has NO time stamp. He has decent stats (Top 1%, 2000 SAT)

Swagger

You are making me a hypocrite by forcing me to keep posting!!!

Columbia also uses the same third party right??? They don’t have this loop-hole!!! Duke knows about this and yet isn’t modifying and hence proving that THIS HAS NO correlation at all!!! AND I AM A 1.16 guy and yet I am fighting because this is ludicrous!! Insanity I tell you!!

^^OK sorry for the overreaction!!

Relax guys…it is just a matter of hours now!!

Give it a rest guys!!! For more discussions try PMing each other or find each other on FB or something!! And just post your time with the result to end this discussion forever!!!

This menace of a thread has gone too long!!!

OFFICIAL EUTHANASIA!!! :D

Whoops - SAT 1420/2170. my error

Alshat,

have you been on Columbia’s decision page yet? Idk if they have timestamps or not

Guys, I agree that there is probably no correlation. I just found the thread from the EDers about the submission stamp, and out of two people with the same time, one got in and the other was rejected.

Chelseaaa, could you link that thread so we can see the hoopla that went on for ED?

I’d like to see that too.

Lol I love how we are all completely ignoring the fact that it meant absolutely nothing for ED haha

does anyone have that link?

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/duke-university/824857-applyyourself-application-submission-status.html

After looking at their posts, I saw that the second poster got accepted (hilary) and either the third or the fourth was rejected.

Maybe this is irrelevant, but still, thought it was worth bringing up.

Well, Chelseaaaa, that’s weak evidence! It would be more effective if the group size was larger…and you don’t even really remember who got in. Let the hysteria continue!

I have enjoyed this immensely! You guys are nuts! Brilliant neurotic nuts! I have one horrific score on that ridiculous SAT and trust me I am not going to be on the accept list. I attend a classical high school in Italy. Five years of ancient greek and latin; recently interrogated on Schopenhauer, Nietzsche, Kierkegaard… It is a very demanding school for students who wish to delve into the classics. I am on the dreaded 5:35. Good luck to you all. Pozzol

i know this has been said several times before, but i really feel like the times don’t mean anything. that being said, i do wonder if the times somehow do correlate to a specific decision. (so i’m kinda a hypocrite lol) i think there is no solid way to find until after decisions are up, but perhaps, the next best way right now is to see what time people who received likely letters have.

is anyone else gonna wait for the mail to come or am i just crazy?

to all the people that say this same thing happened during ED …
WHERE IS THE LINK?
i can’t find a single ed thread with more then 3- 4 people talking about it
