Online Application for UW, Seattle

I want to create an account for the online application. On the web page, it says "You must use your legal name. The name you enter here cannot be changed. Be sure to check the spelling and use of upper and lower case letters. Please do not use all capital letters."

What does the "Please do not use all capital letters" means? Does it mean my name cannot all be written in upper case letters OR it mean I cannot use all 26 alphabets which are all in upper case at the same time?

On my passport, my name is all written in upper case letters. So if the application requires me to use my legal name, should I just write my name all in upper case letters?

If your passport said “JOHN BROWN”, then type in John Brown… that’s it.

Thank you.

I’m applying admission through online as an international transfer student.

My school is using the semester term and usually starts from April to August for Semester 1 and from October to February/March for Semester 2. I will finish all my courses by March 2010. How do I match the semester term to the quarter term? Which field (Autumn 2009, Winter 2010, Spring 2010 and Summer 2010) should I fill in for the “Courses in Progress” section in the “Schools and Degrees” page?

For the “Prefix and Number” and “Short Title”, do they mean the module code of the courses that will be used in my current school?

Can I make up a “Short Title” for the courses or I need to follow the short form for the course title we usually use in my current school?

I find that for the paper application, the DG section says “Have you already earned or do you expect to earn a postsecondary level degree (two-year, associate’s, bachelor’s, etc.)?”. However, for the online application, the DG section says “Have you already earned – or do you expect to earn – an associate or bachelor degree before entering the University?” which does not indicate the phrase “post-secondary level degree”.

I will expect to earn a polytechnic diploma which is a post-secondary level diploma by May 2010. Should I fill in it under “Degrees Earned or Anticipated (DG)” section or “Advanced Level Credit (AL)” section in the “Schools and Degrees” page?

For the “Telephone” field under the “Address Information (AD)” section in the “Address & Residency”, should I include country code to my phone number or else how UW identify the telephone number is an international call from which country?
