I'm currently a high school sophomore and have no extra curricular activities. My problem is that I'm living and going to school in Prague and all the extra curricular activities here outside of school are in Czech and I do not speak any Czech. My school offers very little extra curricular activities, none of which I am interested in. I'd like to major in computer science in college so my question is: Would taking online courses from places such as Udacity and Coursera count as extra curricular activities? Also would learning programming languages count as extra curricular activities. Also any help in general about my situation would be helpful :)

Taking online courses are going to be more in the realm of academics than ECs. It might be more of an EC if you did something with your knowledge of programming languages: produced a product, participated in a competition, etc.

ECs don’t have to be connected with you HS. Think of what can you do outside of school, either on your own or with an outside group.
