Open House

I'm from like this small rural county and feel like a city kid at heart. I absolutely hate it here. Let's not even talk about my stupid school. There aren't too many jobs around here, so I'm trying to go somewhere else for the summer and work.

Hey Mr_Socrates06 you're on HBCU connect.. i am Daya, well besides that i am daya on Hbcuconnect.com i didn't know that till today lol..

hey daya, i didnt know that u were deifant rose, im zag500 on hbcuconnect.....but yeah i saw u on myspace too,

Okay I am really confused! I was invited to the accepted students thing on Friday by email, but I haven't been accepted yet due to problems with the internet app beyond my control?!?!?

maybe they have everything figured out ; but then again the open house is just that so maybe there gonna let u go ,...did u email them back?

I would take it as an acceptance? FuturePrez..you could also try calling them.

@Daya...Yupp that's me. I don't post as much (well only when I see something about Howard).

^^Daya, I always see your posts on HBCU Connect. I'm on there too, but I'm still a "Lurker", because I hardly ever post.

So are all of y'all definitely going to Howard?

99.9% sure I will be at Howard this fall :-)

Whats the .1 %, jus playin....how many of you guys have gotten scholarships

cool tiger pride, i have so many posts but im never really on there

i'm def going to hu paid my enrollment and housing already

I talked to the admissions office and they said that there was some problems with my app, they couldn't find it, but that now I should officially being hearing from them soon!!-Per Jua Howard

By the way if your choosing between hampton and howard, it just depends on the major! For business and politics probably Howard, because they have the top 4 school of business for enterprenuers. And for communications I would choose hampton, my stepmother is a recruiter and director for Scripps and she says that she likes Hampton and Ohio University for recruiting!!

I know it's early, but...

How was the Open House? What went down?

Tiger Pride---

Are u going to Howard?

Kyra,

It's either Howard or Duke, but Duke's financial aid is playing right now, so it looks like Howard, because I sure don't have $44,000 to dish out each year.

How about you?

I am leaning toward Hampton. They gave me a better financial aid package.

Howard gave me a big plus loan. My parents cant afford that.
Plus, I am accepted into their pharmacy program. That is a big plus.

Daya you are so beautiful. I was too nervous to approach you, so I stood at a distance lol. Man, Open House was HOT! The band, the dancers and flag girls.....amazing. I tore the food up. Yea...I'm ready to start school already. lol

So what actually happened?
Did y'all check out the dorms?
Are the inside of the buildings worn out?
How was the food?
Man, I wish I could've went.

Maybe everyone is still there.

Ok, we went in Blackburn Center and checked in, they gave these free bags (with HU tshirt, I Love HU Pin, and other stuff). Had a breakfast table set up with fruit, bagels, juices, umm all kinds of stuff. Finally @ 9 everyone had to seated in the place with all the chairs and stuff. So the band came out, with the dancers and flag girls, and so forth. The admissions woman spoke, the president spoke and some other man. It was a lot of speaking, but it was really interesting. There a student panel there to answer questions, so parents and students could get up to ask a question. Then later on, we got tours depending on our schools (communications, allied health, COAS, Business and whatever else...) which was fun. We came back for a parent/student workshop session, they served us lunch there. People left at different times. But I had a lot of fun.
