Operations Research - Calculus

How calculus heavy is operations research? This major sounds very interesting to me, but something that concerns me is that the school I will be attending, USMA, does not require any additional calculus classes for this major (all students are required to take Calculus 1 and 2 though). Since there is no ABET accreditation for Operations Research, I can’t tell if USMA has a legitimate Operations Research program or not. Every other school I have seen requires Calculus 3 for Operations Research majors so it seems strange to me that USMA does not.

I have a Masters in IE and worked in a group at Boeing that did operations research.

The USMA OR classes look about right to me. We did a lot of statistical modeling and used very little calculus.

That’s not to say heavy-duty calculus is never used in IE/OR, but the need for third-semester calculus will be relatively rare.

The Boeing job was probably the most interesting job I ever had.
