<p>Hi everyone,
I am a high school senior currently making my choice for school next year, and it’s between SUNY Geneseo, Fordham, Macalester, and Barrett/ASU.</p>
<p>I was almost entirely sold on Barrett after an overnight visit, but then I talked to someone who had gone there and ended up transferring out. The person I talked to said that there were many in-state students who already knew people, and she felt excluded. She also said there were no fun, quirky clubs to join. She didn’t really feel that she was part of a community.</p>
<p>I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on this. Any current students: do you feel that it is hard for out of state students to fit in? Is it easy to get involved and make friends?
Also, do Barrett students and other ASU students interact a lot? Are Barrett students looked down upon as the “nerdy” kids?</p>
<p>I am somewhat introverted, so I am worried about making friends. I want to feel familiar with my teachers and I want to have good experience as part of a community. Any thoughts on Barrett, positive or negative are appreciated; I just want to make sure I get all the information before I make the choice.</p>
