I took linear algebra awhile back, and it honestly ended up being one of my favorite math classes I have ever taken. However, I noticed that a lot of people didn’t really care for it or enjoy it. To all of you who took linear algebra, what were your thoughts on it. Did you enjoy it or hate it?
I can’t say I “liked” it, but didn’t really hate it, either. I like cookbook-y math, and hate proofs and derivations. So I thought the operational aspects of it, such as matrix operations, were interesting. I didn’t much care for discussions of anything with the term “eigen” in it.
It’s absolutely a critical subject for computer science these days.
I loved it… back in 1976.
Loved it when I took it in high school, hated it when I took it in college. It is very useful though.
@TheAverageJoe71 : The teacher I had was notorious. It was not fun and every class she expected everyone to go from 0-60 in 2 seconds and had crazy standards when it came to quizzes and tests. So, no, I did not enjoy it, but I thought it was very useful in the rest of my math degree.
