I applied to a number of out of state programs (I live in Texas) and was accepted but as an independent student who is majoring in art history & studio art, I can't justify the loan burden. I applied to only one Texas school because I didn't really like any other schools in Texas besides some private colleges, and well, if I'm going in debt to the amount privates would require I want to live some place I like better than Texas. Texas Women's University is my safety school, but it might be the only school that I can foot without excessive loan debt. I haven't gotten my letters from them, but because I have an Associate's degree from a Texas CC I am guaranteed admission. A
re there any TWU alums in here? Anyone who decided not to go?
I visited back in 2006 and applied and was accepted and was planning to go, but it just wasn't the right time.
Right now, I like that the art program is very small, it was the first art program in the state of Texas, it's still predominately a women's school even though it became coed in the 90's, and I like Denton a great deal as far as Texas cities go. I am not really impressed by the gallery spaces or the work I have seen on the website by current students. I really do rejoice that they offer book arts classes, even some of the nice art schools I applied to offer fewer book arts classes than TWU! So, I am trying to get interested in possibly attending here even though it was my bottom safety. Any advice on that either?

Err Texas Woman’s University.
