Just wanted you guys to know that I applied today, and I surely hope for the best! :)

I thought Fordham was one of your top choices and you were ecstatic to get in there EA, unoriginal?

I have not visited the Wake campus, but I always thought the school sounded wonderful. I have noticed that many students I know visit, like it, apply, and then wind up choosing another school. Not sure what that is all about. I do know it has a reputation for grade deflation- you will really have to work for a GPA that might not be as high as what you might attain elsewhere.

It’s also raaaather expensive. That might explain some of the people who love it and get in but don’t go.

I believe Concord Mills is larger…but hey, what do I know, I’m a lowly Carolina student!

It is, it is. However, that doesn’t mean I’m not allowed to apply to other schools and consider what they have to offer, financially and academically. One thing holding me back from Fordham is that it’s fairly close to home (60 miles or so away), and seeing as how NYC isn’t a largely new experience to me, I might want to branch out on my own a bit more.

Not only that, but Wake’s finaid is not as good as comparable institutions. They factor private loans into their calculation of meeting 100% of need – a clear no-no in the finaid world. Fortunately, Wake recognizes the issue and is trying to raise funds to address it.
