It seems like the Tufts optional essay gives you lots of room to be creative but the one thing that is kind of annoying me right now is that you can't attach a file for that in the commonapp area! You have to type in that box that's at the end of the supplement

but my essay is formatted really wierd in that it needs "returns" at specific lines which are very hard to achieve in that given box so when i look at the pdf preview, it's coming out really messed up! I really want to keep it in this format because i loved writing it this way and I'm satisified with it, so is there a way I can e-mail a pdf version/word doc to the office so they can read it clearly?

thanks so much!

I would like to know this as well. I’m hoping to do prompt 6a, but I have no idea how to attach it onto the Common App.

any help would be greatly appreciated! :)

Most people just mail that in.

Alternatively, you can e-mail a pdf to Rita.Polcari@tufts.edu

ahh I see.

thanks for your response!

Are we only allowed to submit one? I did 6a, and then had an idea for the Kermit essay, and I’d love to submit both!

We’ll accept supplemental materials, and I would count a 2nd optional essay as ‘supplemental.’ My guideline for submitting anything beyond what we request: less is more, and everything in your file should have a purpose. Be thoughtful about what you send in because simply giving us more material does not make an applications stronger. Make sure if you are sending in supplemental materials that you are adding to your file, not reiterating the kinds of qualities found within.
