Daughter has been excepted to both schools and we just toured each school. OSU is out of state and Chico is in state. Psychology major.
Myself I prefer OSU because of the area and the great campus support. Drawback is it out of state tuition and far.
Chico I am worried about the reputation, and not a fan of the area.
Thoughts on others opinions on which would be a better school?
If costs are a problem, then I would go with Chico. But if you’re fine with paying 40-50k a year, then OSU would be the one. You’re right than Corvallis is a better area than Chico, but at the end of the day, are you willing to pay an extra 100k over the four years?
That is definitely a drawback. Awaiting for the award letter to come.
She did get a pretty good scholarship to OSU. She likes that there is a 75% acceptance rate into med school with OSU.
Did she get into the Honors program at either (or can she still apply)?
What’s your budget and what are net costs* for each?
