This concert will be extraordinary and show off the new pipe organ in University Church. What's more is that it is in honor of one of Fordham's best professors, the late Fr. James Boyce, O.Carm, (Carmelite Order) who died several years ago following an illness. Fr.Boyce was famous for scaring freshmen students to death, who unwittingly signed up for his course History of Music thinking it was an easy A. To the contrary he rarely if ever gave A's and told them so on the first day, which resulted in students bolting for the door to drop the class. Of course those who bolted never experienced the exceptional teaching skills and bold enlightenment of his course. He was a fabulous musician and a brilliant man, PhD from NYU. He is greatly missed, but will be there in spirit today and smiling I am certain.

As always sovereigndebt, you are a wealth of useful information. Only insiders know of the new pipes and the dedication to Fr. Boyce. The background of his “No easy A’s” is legendary!
