Orientation, from a parent's perspective

The Regatta is free…you can just stand along the Esplanade and watch!

hi everybody i know this is a bit off topic but…what do we need to bring to orientation? i leave tomorrow, and i can’t seem to find this information anywhere! thanks, any info would be helpful.

My D and I just returned from Orientation and it was great. We went a day early to participate in “Common Ground” and I wouldn’t encourage it. Both my D and I did not think the speakers were engaging nor informative in either the parent session nor the student session. The “tour” of the city with the “trivia questions” according to my daughter was boring. We were wondering if we had made a mistake in choosing BU. However, the next day was the actual orientation and it lived up to our expectations. It was informative, engaging, and yes, exhausting as well. BU separated the students from the parents right away and off we all went in our separate groups. We both came home excited about what lies ahead! Wear comfortable walking shoes, come early if at all possible and pack a fan for your students dorm. The only negative for us was that we could not see Warren Towers which is her housing.
