Orientation

I’m confused. When I go on the USC Orientation website, it says the Freshman Summer Orientation occurs in like July (there’s a late August date but it’s only for international students). There’s also off-campus orientation. Does this mean that I need to go to orientation BEFORE move-in? If I signed up for the New York area event, would I get all my course registration and stuff done then? Or am I just confused…

Also, do I lose anything by going to off-campus orientation? I live on the East Coast so I don’t really want to fly to LA in July, fly back, and then fly there again less than a month later to move in…

Thank you in advance!

Yes, orientation is before move-in. Orientation is when you will sign up for your first semester of classes, and there are advisors present to help you. Looks like they added off-campus orientations since I left school. You should be able to get all the info you need and sign up for classes at those. Looks like the one in New York would be closest to you.

On-campus orientation is fun though and you should go if you are able to!
