Orm?

so we hear of under-represented minorities often, but are there over-represented minorities? if so, who would fall into this category?

Asians (It is debatable if this is a disadvantage)
Jews in generals, but definitely does not decrease college chances. (Not a race anyways)

definitely, asian = disadvantaged at most schools

What about half-Asians?

I don't know about disadvantage for Asians...but I know there's certainly no advantage. And, nowadays, to have no advantage is a disadvantage because for every under-qualified URM admitted, an overqualified student loses his or her spot at the school.

how can you seriously not know the obvious answer to this question?

asians for well know colleges in cali+northeastern....

yeah, but i was trying to get an answer more specific than asians.

for example, let's take hispanics. i'd imagine mexicans and cubans are over-represented, while a nicaraguan or colombian wouldn't be.

i was wondering because my school has a HIGH percentage of cubans/cuban americans (i'd say 50%+), and a bunch have 1450+ SATs and 3.8+ GPAs yet they hardly get in to top schools. not ONE person from my school has ever gotten in to yale, for example, despite the students who apply having 4.0s and 1550+ on their SAT. so i was thinking maybe it's because cubans and mexicans are over-represented hispanics.
