OSU Kinesiology vs UO Physiology

I can’t decide between Oregon State University or University of Oregon for my undergrad. I have been accepted to both and my tuition is pretty much covered in full for both schools, I’m just not sure which school would be “better”. I want to go into medicine so I will definitely need to pursue a higher education, regardless of exactly what I wanna do. Right now I’m set on either becoming a physical therapist (PT school) or going to med school after undergrad.
I wanna go to the college with the best program that’s gonna adequately prepare me for my future.
Please let me know of your personal experiences at either school or anything useful that might give me some insight to either school!

They both will. Pick the one you like the best.

What is your COA at each school? Medical school costs a ton of money with very few scholarships/grants, so it’s mostly loans, so it’s a good idea to save what money you can on UG.

I’m eligible for pathway oregon so my COA is little to none. I think the only thing I would have to pay for are my books and maybe room and board but I would have to double check on that.

You can get the coursework you need at either school. Both will adequately prepare you for PT school or med school.

Both medical school and PT school are very competitive programs for admission.

Do you have a Plan B career in mind? If so, which degree would fit in better with those plans?

Med and PT school both are also very expensive programs to attend and you will be taking out a tons of loan for either. It’s a good idea to minimize the amount of debt you take on for undergrad if plan to pursue either med school or PT school.

Pathway Oregon only pays tuition, you would still need to pay for room & board. R&B at UO is almost $13K/year, Can you/your family afford that?

My net cost to attend UO is 6817 per year, this is obviously not taking into account the federal work study job along with any other loans that I’ve been offered.
My net cost to attend OSU is around 14177 per year, which is also not taking into account the fed work study along with any other loans.

Medical school is crazy expensive-well, pretty much all professional/graduate programs are expensive-so save your money when you can. So if I’m reading the numbers correctly, UO would be the choice.

You can only borrow a limited amount per year as an undergraduate student
$5500/freshman, $6500/sophomore and $7500/junior and senior.

Work study jobs are NOT guaranteed. (Plus assuming you even find a work study job you still have to work your hours first before you receive any money. Work study jobs are hourly jobs that will give you a paycheck every 2 weeks and the amount will vary depending on how many hours you work. WS is great for small OOP cost like laundry, printing, books, but don’t count on this money to pay R&B.)

Based on the difference in net costs, I say go to UO.
