Hey guys I am just wondering if when applying to grad school (particuarly law) if a degree from OSU from someone with good grades is pretty competitive with the top 30 or so law schools? Thanks

Ohio State is ranked in the mid to upper 30s

A degree from OSU won’t hurt you or help you. What’s going to matter is how you take advantage of your time in college. OSU is a massive school that is just like a lot of other big state schools, so if you want to be competitive with people at top schools, you must distinguish yourself. Get top grades and high LSATs. A degree from OSU doesn’t have the same currency as a degree from a really prestigious school; no admissions committee is going to be overly impressed by the name itself–not when they’ve got applicants from Ivies and top SLACs, etc. If you go to OSU, work hard and look for opportunities to distinguish yourself.
