Other Recommender

My son has his main recommendations from his English and Science teacher. My son volunteers in a life skills class weekly with a teacher in his school. He asked her for a recommendation and figured he would use it as his “Other Recommendation”.

Question - On the schools application area it asks to request the recommendation by email to the teacher. Is there any way to attach the one she already wrote that is in Naviance/Common App? Are the “other recommendation” questions specific to the school?

Some schools have clear restrictions on who does and doesn’t qualify as a supplemental (or other) recommender, so keep that in mind. I would recommend contacting the school’s admissions office and asking if they accept supplemental letters via Naviance or the Common App: that’s why they’re there!
