I LOVED Wellesley. I am applying ED next year. But, I'm afraid that I won't get in and I want to find schools that are like it, so if I do get rejected, I will find a school I like. What other schools are similar to Wellesley (need not to be all girls)? I'm planning on majoring in Art History, so it's critical that the school has acsess to museaums. Also, I don't want a TINY school (at least 500 freshman). I can't think of any schools besides Vassar, but I want the school to be close to a major city (Poughkipsee is the middle of nowhere as far as I'm concerned) Any help?

Check out the other remaining members of the "Seven Sisters":
Barnard, Bryn Mawr, Smith, Mt. Holyoke

Barnard is in the heart of NYC, Bryn Mawr is 10 minutes from Philadelphia.

Bryn Mawr and Smith are WAY too small. I'm going to visit Barnard and I know someone on the admissions board there, but I'm not sure if I want to stay in NYC.

elenacip,

Yes, Bryn Mawr and Smith are small, but don't forget they are both part of larger communities... Smith & Mt. Holyoke are part of the 5 college consortium (along with Amherst College, Hampshire College, and UMass)... Bryn Mawr is VERY CLOSELY affiliated with Haverford College, in fact, the two schools even share some departments.

By the way, Smith (2750) has MORE undergrads than Wellesley (2300)!!!

Bryn Mawr has about 1250 undergrads, Mt. Holyoke has 2100, and Barnard has about 2400.
